Ilmenau University of Technology is a research-intensive university with campus flair, intercultural diversity and a family environment. In around 100 subject areas at five faculties of the TU Ilmenau, scientists carry out
scientists conduct innovative basic research and applied research at the highest level in engineering sciences, information technologies, economics and media sciences, mathematics and natural sciences.
The Department of Electrochemistry and Electroplating deals with fundamental and applied issues in electrochemistry and electroplating. The department employs 15 scientific staff, 14 internal and external doctoral students and 2 technical staff.
The Department of Electrochemistry and Electroplating offers the Master's degree programme in Electrochemistry and Electroplating (Master of Science, M. Sc.), which is unique in Germany. The Master's programme builds on a scientific, engineering or technical Bachelor's degree, e.g. chemistry, materials science, energy technology, mechanical engineering. It provides a comprehensive understanding of electrochemical processes and their applications. Thanks to good contacts with national and international industry and the Central Association for Surface Technology (ZVO), the programme provides a practical education.
