The ZVO represents the interests of raw material and process chemistry suppliers, system manufacturers, component manufacturers, service providers, coaters and electroplating companies in the German electroplating and surface technology sector. Its member companies are active in the field of surface finishing with metals or metal compounds from liquid process media.

The ZVO is the central point of contact for customer industries, politicians and authorities on economic, environmental, energy and educational policy issues relating to electroplating and surface technology. For technological issues, the German Society for Electroplating and Surface Technology (DGO) provides the expertise of a technical and scientific association.
