Experts in electroplating and surface technology will once again gather in Berlin from 15 to 17 September 2027 for the ZVO Oberflächentage. The venue is the MOA Berlin, which, with its modern ambience, short distances between venues and excellent location, has already proven its worth at the ZVO Surface Technology Days in 2023 and 2025.
The ZVO Annual Congress at the MOA will begin on the evening of 15 September 2027 with the opening ceremony, whilst the programme of presentations will take place over the following two days – all under one roof and with short distances to cover. The lecture theatres are just a few steps away from the exhibition plaza. At the same time, over 300 rooms are available for congress guests.
Five-track lecture programme
The 2027 congress programme once again features over 90 presentations covering key areas such as new developments in corrosion protection, hazardous substances management, fire safety in electroplating and coating companies (preventative, organisational, technical, FBU insurance), diversification of decorative electroplated surfaces (customer requirements, compatibility, integration options into existing plants, requirements for process and wastewater treatment technology), coating characterisation and properties of Cr(III) coatings, best practice: Chromium(III) surface systems in everyday practice, best practice: Transformation/new business areas for electroplating and coating companies (including B2C), micro-electroforming (e.g. for the production of micro- or nano-embossing tools) and electroplating technology in (micro-)electronics. The call for papers opens in October 2026 and closes on 31 January 2027.
The conference programme is rounded off by presentations from the recurring areas of bath and/or surface analysis, the ‘Management meets Surface’ business forum, digitalisation in surface technology, artificial intelligence in surface technology, research findings – reports from early-career researchers, Cathodic Corrosion Protection, Wear Protection & Tribology, Functional Coatings. New Requirements for Electroplating and Surface Technology, Future Topics in Surface Technology, From Process Monitoring to Product Quality, Advances in Plant and Control Engineering, Automation Opportunities in Electroplating and Coating Companies, Alternative Surface Technologies – Painting, Plasma Technologies, Thermal Spraying…, Real-world damage cases and damage analysis for fault prevention and cost reduction, as well as recycling/circular economy/circularity in surface engineering (processes, products, product design).
Under the heading ‘Women in Surface Technology: Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects’, Female SurFaces – the ZVO’s women’s network – will once again be holding a session. As will the established consultation session: Regulatory developments at national and international level, during which questions on European and national environmental and chemicals policy will be answered.
